Q Tops have been tested by the sawyers at Pacific Rim Tonewoods, and have been found to have the lowest level of acoustic damping of all the wood in their inventory.
This is our first Collings OM2H featuring a newly available "Q Top." What's a Q Top? We could bore you with a diatribe about parametric equalizers, tap tones, etc. But suffice it to say: Q Tops have been tested by the sawyers at Pacific Rim Tonewoods, and have been found to have the lowest level of acoustic damping of all the wood in their inventory. Low damping typically equates to increased resonance and responsiveness, alongside all the other qualities we look for in a great instrument (sustain, lushness, complexity of sound). This OM2H is proof of the rule, exhibiting the characteristic Collings voice with a little something extra. It's very sweet-sounding, with a gorgeous, bell-like high end and added hi-fi presence.
If you've been waiting for a special OM2H, and you're specifically interested in Collings's standard series of guitars, this guitar fits the bill beautifully.
