The Idris reimagines a classic Strat blueprint - bolt-on construction, three Fralin Vintage Hot single‑coils, roasted maple/rosewood neck, and full‑scale length - alongside Novo’s own twists that include a roasted pine body & neck and sleek contours that nod to offset guitars and, say, a Burns Bison.
Those curves aren’t just for show; they improve balance, make the upper frets easy to reach, and shift the neck just enough to give the guitar a short‑scale feel while keeping the familiar 25 ½‑inch scale. Ergonomics and player comfort were clearly a goal of this design and Dennis Fano nailed it.
Speaking of comfory, the smooth, aged finish C‑profile neck with a compound 9.5–14″ radius and flawless fretwork offers that slinky‑but‑substantial feel between a Strat and a Tele, while the Fralin pickups (Fralin Vintage Hote) - wired to a master volume, master tone, blend control, and five‑way selector - deliver glassy, chimey, touch‑sensitive tones with sweet compression in the 2 and 4 positions. Strat lovers will feel right at home, but the Idris has its own personality and vibe which we really appreciate.
