Product information

A remarkably easy-playing 28½" baritone that feels familiar in the hands, balances perfectly, and delivers big, clear tone without the usual stretch.

The secret is the 18-fret neck and bridge placement. By rethinking the layout, Don created a 28½" scale baritone that plays with the ease of a standard electric, just with wider fret spacing. It’s one of those designs that disappears under your hands in the best possible way.

Years ago, we stopped by Don Grosh’s NAMM booth during the debut of his Electrajet Baritone. In the middle of the show’s usual noise and chaos, one thing stood out immediately: this baritone felt different. We didn’t have the time then to dig into the “why,” but we didn’t need to. It played better than any baritone we’d encountered, and that impression stuck with us.

Fast forward a few years, and we’ve started ordering more baritones from Don based on that memory alone. Each time one arrives, it confirms what we felt back then - they're light, perfectly balanced, and immediately comfortable. Then you notice the reach: or rather, how little there is.

Where many baritones require your left hand to stretch just enough to feel foreign, this one doesn’t (due to the longer scale length). Cowboy chords sit where you expect them. It feels familiar in a way most extended-scale guitars don’t.

Tonally, the TV Jones Magnatrons are a perfect match. There’s plenty of low-end authority, but it’s balanced by a sweet top end and a lively upper midrange that keeps everything clear and musical. Nothing feels missing, and nothing feels exaggerated.

If you’re skeptical, we get it—baritones can be divisive. But spend a little time with this Electrajet and it becomes very clear why it left such a strong impression on us all those years ago.
