There's nothing quite like plugging into a vintage 100 Watt Marshall, and this '74 Super Lead is proof that bigger might just be better.

1974 Marshall JMP Model 1959 Super Lead 100 Watt just in!

It's no surprise that the Super Lead is one of the most iconic guitar amplifiers on the planet. These 1959 models deliver incredible volume, punch, and drive like no other amp.

This '74 metal panel represents Marshall's move from point-to-point construction to the newly adapted PCB board construction. Its overall voice is a bit more aggressive sounding during this era as well, but is still characteristically high power Marshall in its delivery. This SL was recently serviced by our favorite amp tech Stan Day, who replaced the bias caps as well as a few out-of-spec resistors and a faulty Cliff jack. The EL34 power tubes were also rebiased, and some previous repair work was tidied up. Stan installed a new 3-prong power cord, too.

The amp came to us with a homemade back panel that was not too aesthetically appealing. We replaced it in-house with a Mojotone back panel - a much better fit and look!

Whether you're just getting into vintage Marshalls and don't want to break the bank, or you're looking for a 100 watter you can take to a gig without a second thought, this '74 Super Lead is a worthy option that would not disappoint!

**Please Note: All vintage amplifiers - regardless of service history - contain electronic components that will eventually require replacement or repair. This is often unpredictable and should be expected as a vintage amplifier owner. We are not responsible for additional service upon receipt. We also do not guarantee tube life.**
