Grosh NOS VT 2-Tone Sunburst/Timeworn

We thought it would be fun to have Don Grosh build an NOS VT in the style of Clarence White's famous B-Bender equipped Tele.

We considered going full Clarence White and installing a proper B-Bender... but ultimately decided to channel the vibe, not the hardware. The result? A beautifully spec’d Grosh that nods to Clarence’s legendary Tele with a Strat neck pickup, tortoise guard, two-tone sunburst finish, and a figured birdseye maple board that adds just the right dose of vintage character. As for the B-Bender? Probably best left to the true pros (read: not us!).

If Grosh is new to you, here’s the short version: expect world-class build quality, light weight, lively resonance, and feel that’s as refined as it gets. Don Grosh’s guitars are a rare blend - vintage soul paired with modern craftsmanship and playability.

The satin-finished maple neck on this build is a standout, with a stunning birdseye board, ’50s Soft V-to-C carve (.85"–.95"), 10" radius, and medium 6150 frets. It’s incredibly comfortable - quick in the hand, but not overly slim - and paired with Don’s signature fretwork, it plays like a dream.

Tone-wise, this one’s got range. A Fat 60s pickup in the neck offers warmth and clarity, while the GT bridge pickup brings the bite - just softened enough to avoid any harsh, icepick-y highs. The swamp ash body keeps things snappy and resonant, with a natural musical compression that makes everything feel just right.

A fantastic build from Don Grosh that tips its hat to Clarence, but stands entirely on its own. Perfect for players who love T-style guitars but want something more refined, responsive, and dialed in.
