Looking for a Strat that isn't afraid to buck tradition and just happens to be made by one of the industry's legendary builders? Don't miss this one - it's one hell of a guitar.

Tom Anderson is a legend in the boutique guitar world, known for making some of the most flawless, sophisticated guitars going - one look at his roster of "who's who" players is a testament to this fact.

Weighing in at 7lbs 1oz, this hot-rodded Strat-style L'il Angel is a very lightweight, well-balanced guitar. It simply radiates quality from the moment you pick it up and reminds us quite a bit of Suhr guitar - another legendary builder known for incredibly high-end instruments. The build is immaculate and just beckons you to dig in and get down to playing.

The satin finished, "even taper" neck feels wonderful. It sports a 1 11/16th nut and is similar to an early/mid-60s Fender with regards to depth and profile, but has a touch more string spacing which we found to be really comfortable for both lead and rhythm playing. Flawless fretwork contributes to an effortless playing experience and the guitar has a slinky overall feel. Simply put? This guitar is a blast to play.

Played acoustically, it has a very snappy, balanced voice. Tons of resonance, sustain, and projection is present even without the aid of an amp. Plugged in, the L'il Angel has a really cool, modern Strat voice - beautiful chime and articulation but with some muscle behind it. Each note has a snap / attack to it much like a great pedal compressor imparts. In short, balance is the word of the day here. No one frequency dominates so you're left with a very even, balanced sounding instrument. Players who really appreciate nuanced instruments will likely love what Tom's guitars have to offer.
