The Ibanez AS200 has long been the premier semi-hollow electric offering from the Japanese guitar maker, sporting quality tonewoods with elegant and elevated appointments akin to Gibson's ES-355.

This AS200 was built in 1979 at a time when Ibanez was building some of their finest instruments. Directly competing with Gibson's classic semi-hollow electric, the AS200 features a beautiful curly Maple hollow body with a center block, Mahogany neck with bound Ebony fingerboard and multi-piece abalone and pearl block inlays, Super 70 humbuckers, and gold hardware throughout. The original Tri Tone switch allows the player to access both series and parallel tones along with a coil split for some unique single coil sounds.

The neck profile is slim and fast, making it a great choice for Jazz, Fusion, or Rock where melodic lines are the focus. It's quite an acoustically resonant guitar as well, and comes in at a fairly moderate weight around 8.5 lbs.

70s Ibanez guitars continue to stand out as some of the best values in vintage electrics, and this AS200 is no exception.

Condition: Very Good+. Typical signs of a guitar that's been played and owned for the better part of 45 years, but very well maintained overall. The original gold plated hardware has some light to moderate patina throughout (most notably on the pickup covers and bridge). The finish is in great shape with some small nicks and surfaces stratches - no major dings or deep gouges. One volume knob has been replaced with a newer Ibanez grip knob, and a new bound pickguard was made in place of the original (which is included in the case). The frets look good with light wear.

Priced with original hardshell case.
