The neck shows a February 1966 ink stamp, and with the original CTS wiring harness showing a date code of the 7th week of 1965, indicates the likelihood that the bass went into production at the end of 1965. Another indicator of its production timeline is the use of the "pre CBS" Kluson tuners featured on Fender basses until 1965.

As is sometimes the case with vintage basses having been outfitted with very heavy strings over an extended period of time (like this one), the neck initially showed some acute relief. The consignor had the neck heat pressed to correct the forward bow, and proper functionality was quickly and easily restored without issue. The truss rod works great and the bass is now set up comfortably with nice action.

It's got the classic 3-tone Sunburst with a more opaque yellow center of the era, and check out that solar flare pattern in the original tortoiseshell pickguard! The original grey bobbin pickup sounds excellent as well. It comes with its original Fender hardshell case that has also remained in great shape.
