With a Quilted Sapele laminate top and a Custom Sunburst finish, this is surely one of the most unique semi-hollows to come out of the Collings factory in some time!

At its core, it represents the great LC platform that Collings has nearly perfected - a refined semi-hollow electric that delivers its own take on the classic ES-335 sound. With the use of a beautifully crafted and highly figured Quilted Sapele laminate top and finished off with a rich custom Sunburst, it offers as much in elegance and class as it does in tone.

The PAF-esque response of the Throbak SLE101+ humbuckers is rich, clear, and throaty, with a decidedly vintage openness that these pickups are known for. We do here a particular tonal shift in the laminate top as well - there's something a little more complex happening acoustically that is changing the way the guitar responds beyond the more conventional Collings laminate recipe.

At a few ticks below 7lbs on our scale, you're unlikely to come across another semi-hollow electric like an I-35 that feels this lightweight and balanced at the same time. It's one of the most comfortable playing electric guitars out there, no doubt.
