Carolina Banjo Company 11" Figured Cherry Custom w/Tree Carvings
Luthier Ryan Navey's "Carolina Banjo Company" banjos continue to sell at a pace too frenzied even for us here at The Music Emporium. This gorgeously constructed 11" banjo, featuring a rim of Figured Cherry and completely original "Tree" carving motif, sold after the builder posted a teaser photo on Instagram. We did get to play it briefly, and can confirm that the "Treejo" isn't all about the looks -- the mountain-inspired, warm and plunky sound, coupled with its smooth playability, puts this one in a class of its own.
