Brondel's ability to harness vintage vibe, sound, and feel with high-level modern playability is rarely contested in his "New Vintage" series.

If you've followed along with our ever-growing vintage electric inventory (especially over the past few years), you may have noticed some particularly interesting pieces that straddle the line between what was and what could be. Chances are, it was a "New Vintage" build by one of our favorite luthiers, Laurent Brondel.

Taking the vintage mutt or "partscaster" concept to a whole new level, Laurent seems to effortlessly blur the line between a guitar that plays like a brand new boutique level instrument and one that has the sound and feel of a 50 year old guitar.

Assembled on the foundation of a shop-made 7/8 size offset Alder body and an original 1971 Fender Mustang neck, this New Vintage Mustang has all the great vintage tonality and old wood combined with impeccable fretwork and an authentic nitro finish.

This is one of the more unique New Vintage builds we've had come in due to the body used in this build. Laurent took the dimensional aspects of a standard Jazzmaster body and scaled it down by approximately 12%, effectively getting it closer to the silhouette of a Mustang body. So cool!

The pickup combination is rather unique as well. A Vintage Guild mini humbucker brings a warm, round neck pickup tone into the fold, while a more tele-like setup with the Mojotone Broadcaster bridge pickup adds some nice sizzle and snap. They sound particularly great when combined!

Arguably one of our most popular electric offerings from our small-shop builders, this latest "New Vintage" sure won't stick around long!
