TME is honored to offer Tony Rice's personal Santa Cruz guitar, which he owned and played from 2007-2010. We're not going to bore you with specs, so let's just say it again: this guitar belonged to Tony Rice. If you're a disciple of Tony's, the look will be instantly recognizable: enlarged soundhole, dalmatian pickguard, blank fingerboard & peghead veneer, and the strap button placed right in the middle of the neck heel. The guitar is still set up to Tony's specs, with his trademark nickel strings and super-low action. While you likely don't need us to tell you it sounds amazing (it does), there's no standard-issue guitar writing that means anything when talking about this guitar. It's an instrument that simply makes you giddy to behold and play, knowing that Tony's hands were once on that neck, playing his legendary versions of "Shenandoah," "Church Street Blues," or any one of the dozens of other tunes that are still being spun on the sound system at TME daily. A remarkable guitar in every way, and a small piece of the flatpicked guitar's history. With Calton Case and letter from Tony Rice verifying provenance.
