Description

We're happy to have this huge-sounding 1945 Martin 00-18 in inventory -- 14-fret 00s have a unique mix of warmth and punch, making them an ideal multi-use instrument. And the tapered bracing structure found in Martins made in 1945 gives this one added punch when played with a flatpick. Martin tops in 1945 could've been either Sitka or Red Spruce; but everything about the tone, snap and big low end of this guitar has us betting Red all the way. Its overall condition is excellent for a vintage instrument -- its original structure is intact and unmodified (even down to the brass frets). There's one repaired back crack and an area of discolored finish around the end wedge (likely caused by an overly humid case / storage), but that's it. It's had a well-executed neck reset and plays perfectly. Sound? As mentioned -- huge. Fantastic low end for such a small guitar, with the dryness and woody snap everyone looking for vintage style-18 Martins craves. Have a listen as Lindsay Straw demonstrates it with bare fingers and a flatpick. Priced with modern Martin hard case.
