As far as player-grade Gibson Southern Jumbos go, this '46 is about as good as it gets. Fat neck? Yes. Great sound? Check. Good setup & playability, with no need for work to get it where it needs to be? Roger that. There are a couple small issues, sure, but they're basically invisible to anyone looking at the front of the guitar; and those same people likely wouldn't care a lick once they hear the textbook sound pumping out of this guitar. Plenty of low end, with the woody balance and high-midrange chime that characterizes a good Gibson in spades. Several TME staffers are currently conspiring to own this guitar, so you may need to beat us to the punch if you're interested.

Condition: the back of the neck has been refinished, two back cracks have been glued and stabilized, the bridge plate has been replaced, and a small stabilizing cleat has been added underneath the pickguard. The top appears crack-free, and sports its original finish. The guitar has had a well-executed neck reset, and is not in need of another one. The setup is excellent under tension of light gauge strings; and the frets have been freshly dressed. There is some play wear evident in the fingerboard, but we can attest that it doesn't affect the guitar's in-hand feel at all. Price includes non-original hardshell case. On consignment; shipping calculated at checkout.
