Any guitar player interested in a classic Gibson slope-shouldered dreadnought will do no finer than this 1959 J-50. For a late 50's guitar, this one's as good as it gets: lightweight, easy playing, effortlessly responsive, and booming with the golden-warm Gibson strumming tone that's been the bedrock of so many classic recordings. The guitar has been refretted by our friend, Mark Stutman, of Folkway Music, who also shored up a small back crack, made a new nut, and reglued some loose braces (aka the Gibson 50,000 mile service & maintenance package). The guitar is now solid as a rock and plays easily up and down the neck. Let's say it again, because it bears repeating: this is a great sounding example of Gibson's late 50's slope dreadnoughts. And we think any alt-country troubador would be right at home with this guitar draped across their lap. Priced with non-original hardshell case.
