We've been spoiled with some amazing Gibson acquisitions lately, and this 2003 Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Custom '68 Reissue has quickly found its way to the top of the heap. 

The early/mid period Gibson Custom examples have become increasingly sought after for their period-correct accuracy and feel/playability. As far as modern LPCs go, we can verify those claims! The '68 Reissues in particular have great necks that players often associate with the R7 profile- a full C carve with a more established shoulder than the comparable 50s carve. If you're into big necks, this LPC delivers. That being said, its taper makes playability much more smooth than the measurements would indicate; and there's no doubt that it's contributing to the tone of the guitar.

Remember the days when Gibson didn't have a million different humbucker options in their guitars? The venerable Classic '57s - found in almost every model at this level from the mid 90s through early/mid 2000s - sound excellent. Great output with equal parts clarity and muscle. The upgraded wiring harness with vintage-spec capacitors is certainly helping to squeeze out that extra bit of tone and response. Another welcome upgrade is the lightweight Faber locking tailpiece and studs, undoubtedly adding sustain and acoustic resonance while shaving a few precious ounces off.

With vintage LP pricing on a seemingly endless rise in a blazing hot market, it's no surprise that a great Gibson Custom like this would tick a lot of boxes. This high-class Custom has the look and the tone to match.

Condition: Excellent. Minor buckle rash on the back of the body and some general light handling and play wear. The original Grover tuners and ABR-1 bridge retain their gold plating with light tarnishing. Very light fretwear on the original frets. The original tailpiece and studs are included along with the original volume/tone pots.
