The 1967 Telecaster isn't just an instrument; it's a legacy, meticulously crafted for those who appreciate the finest details and unparalleled sound.

Nearly six decades after its debut, the ‘67 Telecaster remains somewhat of a hidden gem among diehard Tele players, and though this example is a Custom Shop and not vintage, we can see why after spending some time with it. The folks at the Custom Shop have done a fantastic job of capturing what makes these Telecasters so cool while modernizing a few key components (see: bridge/saddle).

First, the specs. This new for 2024 '67 Tele reissue features a two-piece select ash body, maple neck with a round-laminated maple fingerboard, Bigsby B5 Vibrato tailpiece, and RSD J-Bridge (which is one of our favorite Fender bridges).

Additional features include a '60s-style Oval "C" back-shape (which felt immediately comfy in-hand), 9.5" radius, 21 narrow tall (6105) frets, Custom Shop hand-wound '67 Tele pickups, Modern Tele wiring with Greasebucket tone circuit, 3-way switch, 3-ply parchment pickguard, vintage-style "F" tuning machines, bone nut, and wing string tree.

Plugged in, the '67 pickups combined with the Ash body and Bigsby B-5 tremolo, deliver musical, open, and articulate Tele tones.

The Bigsby definitely imparts some color to the overall tone which we love, but honestly, our first-foremost concern was - does it stay in tune? After giving the strings a good stretching, we really went to town on the bar and have to say, it stayed in tune beautifully. The more the guitar gets played, the nut slots "break in", etc...we can only imagine the tuning stability will become even more solid, but consider us sold. This run of '67 Telecasters from the Custom Shop are fantastic guitars!
