Dan Strain of Nashville-based Danocaster guitars has built a stellar reputation for creating highly sought after F-style relic guitars. Danocaster players like Julian Lage, Margaret Glaspy, Keith Urban, Neil Schon, Rusty Anderson, and Val McCallum speak to the caliber of Dan's work.

We've been fortunate to play quite a few of them and all have been fantastic instruments, this gorgeous 2021 2-Tone Sunburst Double Cut being no exception. The look and feel of this guitar have an authenticity that elude a lot of relics we've played.

Looks aside, Danocaster's are resonant, alive, lightweight instruments. The necks are easily a highlight - the most perfectly broken-in, easy to play neck you could ask for. This example features a C carve that's .86" at the first fret, a 9 1/2" radius, and is fretted with 6125 frets. This type of neck feel is the very thing that sends many on "the search" for the perfect vintage guitar - that perfectly broken in, well-loved, well-played neck that just feels immediately comfortable. A Danocaster just skips you to the front of the line and saves you quite a bit of time and cash in the process.

Resonant, alive, tons of sustain...and this is just played acoustically. Plugged in, the Rocketfire 60s pickups yield all the classic Strat tones you could ever want. Round, slightly compressed, sweet top-end...it's "the sound" we all grew up with.

Condition: Well, it's a relic. It's near mint and the setup is spot on. Frets show the faintest fret wear - look quickly and you wouldn't see it. The skunk stripe on the back of the neck can be felt just the tiniest best when running your thumb over it - we didn't feel it when playing.

Danocaster's reputation is well established so we won't go on and on about how great this Strat is. Suffice it to say, outside of dropping +/- $20K, you're simply not going to find a relic that gets you as close to the feel, looks, and tones of the real deal as a Dano. Priced with hardshell case.
