The Collings City Limits is the Austin, TX-based company's take on a Les Paul, though the only real similarities between the two are its set-neck construction, use of mahogany/maple/rosewood woods, and short scale length. Why you ask? Because Collings has taken this spec recipe to a much more refined and elegant place.

The build quality is quite literally flawless, as is the finish work and fret work. The flamed maple capped mahogany body features Collings' tummy and thigh cuts on the back of the guitar, making this CL incredibly comfort to sit with for extended playing sessions.

Loaded with a set of Lollar P90s and a traditional 2 volume, 2 tone, 3-way switch layout, the tones are familiar but also refined. Lollar P90s have a sweet top end and slightly dialed back midrange, making them a touch less aggressive than a late 50s style P90. A punchy, articulate P90 tone we love is still present to be sure, it just comes with a more open character which we really like.

Condition: Excellent. Save for some very light fret wear and a few very superficial marks on the back, this guitar is incredibly clean and almost looks new.

If you've been in the market for a great P90-equipped Les Paul style guitar and appreciate what modern guitars offer in terms of playability and higher build quality? This is your guitar, no question.
