Description

We haven't seem many instruments from Toronto-based master luthier Joe Yanuziello lately - he's a busy man and rightfully so. These are best-of-the-best works of art and they take time to produce. Trust us, they are well worth the wait.

From the moment you first pick a Yanuziello up, you know you're holding a special guitar - the quality is obvious (as is the weight, or lack thereof). Spend 5 minutes playing one and you will find yourself finding any way possible to take it home. They're very addictive to play and just exceptionally musical and unique.

The attention to detail on Joe's guitars is staggering - no detail is left to chance. Note the way the gorgeous grained ivoroid pickguard leaves the bass side of the fretboard and gracefully swings down to catch the curve of the bridge pickup; the checkered purfling; the blue truss rod cover... We could go on, but there are just so many well designed touches it'd likely fill up this write-up. Just spend some time looking it over and you'll see that a guitar like this could only come from a master builder - someone who not only understands what makes a brilliant instrument, but one who also understands the importance of design.

The tones from the Fralin/Yanuziello single coil pickups are articulate, nuanced, fat, and warm. There is a complexity to the tone of these guitars that's very appealing to our ears. You can achieve Frisell-esq clean tones all the way to swampy, loose-bass, pushed blues tones with ease. Just an amazing playing experience overall.

Some guitars that reach this level of build perfection can be a little lifeless - the pursuit of perfection at the expense of being soulful. Not so with Joe Yanuziello's instruments. There's a lot of heart and soul in these guitars and we regularly find ourselves digging deeper, playing new licks and ideas when we get a spare 15 minutes to sit with one.

If you've been considering a Yanuziello, this is your chance. They don't last long at all, so jump on in. You will not be disappointed!
