Models We Love

F5

The F5 model has defined the classic American mandolin since the early 1920s. With its sculpted form and room-filling projection, the F5 is an icon that evokes mandolin pioneers across the musical landscape, from Dave Apollon to Bill Monroe.

The Smart Florentine (“F5” style) mandolin is built with the finest high-figure maple back, sides and neck; choice hand-split spruce top; ebony fingerboard and bridge; Schaller tuning machines; spirit varnish (made in house); fully bound body, fingerboard and headstock; and mother-of-pearl inlays.

A5

The Smart A5 mandolin is built in the traditional teardrop shape using the finest high-figure maple back, sides and neck; choice hand-split spruce top; ebony fingerboard and bridge; Schaller tuning machines; spirit varnish (made in house); fully bound body, fingerboard and headstock; and mother-of-pearl inlays.

Two Point

The Smart Two Point mandolin is a modification of the A5 design. The standard A5 mandolin is built in the traditional teardrop shape using the finest high-figure maple back, sides and neck; choice hand-split spruce top; ebony fingerboard and bridge; Schaller tuning machines; spirit varnish (made in house); fully bound body, fingerboard and headstock; and mother-of-pearl inlays.
