Our most popular low-watt combo to date, the Swart Atomic Jr. is now offered in a more expanded format, with a small box head and beautiful matching 1x12 cabinet! Those rich 5 watt tones take on a whole new character when paired up with the big resonant 1x12 cabinet and Celestion Creamback 12" speaker.

Why We Love This

It's no secret that 5 watt tube amps have long been adored by many of our guitar heroes as a means of delivering some ultra-vibey tube saturated tone at manageable volumes. These studio darlings found their way onto many historic rock albums for that very reason. Using either their small, inefficient combo speakers or plugged into a 4x12 stack, a single-ended tube amp behaves like no other, with a rich overdrive tone as distinctive as the players who used them. The Atomic Jr from Swart Amplifiers embodies many of those elements.

Arguably the most popular small-format combo that TME has sold in the shop since going electric, the Swart Atomic Jr melds 5 watt simplicity with a killer sounding reverb, "Hot" or "Clean" modes, and in this case, Michael's excellent Night Light Jr. attenuator. This "expanded" version separates out that wonderful circuit into a small-box head with 8 and 16 ohm speaker outputs, and - in this case - is paired with Swart's large format 1x12 speaker cabinet loaded with a Celestion Creamback 12" speaker.

What does this mean for you? You can get inspiring, complex, rich tones...drenched in a luscious reverb...at very reasonable volumes. Read: your living room. Could you blast this little guy at 12 AM without disturbing the family (or neighbors)? Well, that just depends now doesn't it? It's a loud 5 watts, but not overly so. It's ideal for home use, no question.

Looking more for a recording amp? This little guy will easily deliver the goods in front of a great mic. Heck, even with a not-so-great mic we imagine it'll still deliver impressive results - it's that good.

If you love the idea of mixing and matching circuits with different speaker cabinets for a new feel or flavor, this setup is for you! We love the bigger, fuller tone we get out of the matching cab, too.
