It's got the warm, round tone you'd expect, yes, but it's punchy and clear enough that soloing on it in a band context is no problem at all. The voice of the instrument certainly makes us think of old-time and Celtic sessions, where the ability to be heard above the din while maintaining sweetness of sound is priority number one.

This mandolin is on consignment directly from the builder, sold and warrantied as new, though the pickguard shows a few minor scratches. Priced with a new Hoffee case!
