Gibson L-7N Natural 1949

Gibson introduced the L-7 in 1932 as a more affordable version of their very popular L-5. Similar in everything but cosmetics, the L-7 became one of their most popular archtops and is still favored today by players looking for an affordable jazz box with that vintage warmth and projection. This 1949 version is exceptionally clean and a rare natural finish. We looked the guitar over very carefully for signs of restoration and, after much head-scratching given the near impossibly clean finish, determined it to be all original. The pickguard does look to be replaced as one can see some slight repair work under the guard on the inside of the fingerboard extension. The original guard assembly looks to have been replaced with a smaller attachment piece. Otherwise, the guitar is nice and clean. There is no seam separation or obvious binding shrinkage; tight joints all around. The playability is excellent as is the neck set, bridge height and original fret work. On consignment.
