Tom Anderson's name carries considerable weight in the boutique guitar world and we're always quick to welcome one into the shop when the opportunity arises. Tom's guitars feel modern in-hand with immaculate workmanship, a sleek / fast feel, and a lot of well thought out features that pros and hobbyists alike will appreciate (check out the roster of players on his site - it's pretty incredible).
The use of a short scale (24 3/4") along with a 1 11/16" nut width make these "shorty" guitars feel more unique than your average Strat. Not only does this create a super easy to play guitar - the fretboard is shifted just a touch towards your body, reducing the reach for the lower "cowboy chord" frets - it changes the tone. We hear a slight reduction in the twang and snap your usually hear w/a long scale Fender, with the addition of a fatter, more pronounced midrange. To be sure the Anderson humbuckers add to the midrange and fatness too.
The satin finished, "even taper" neck feels wonderful and is similar to an early/mid-60s Fender with regards to depth - this is the kind of neck that most players would be happy with. The flawless fretwork and short scale length deepen the effortless playing experience and the guitar has a slinky overall feel.
Condition: Excellent / near mint. Slight tarnishing on the pickup covers and a very small indentation or two scattered on the body keep it from being mint. The setup is perfect.
Simply put? This guitar is a blast to play - we could find no fault with it. Priced with hardshell case.
