All (cat's) eyes are on this rare 1966 Gretsch 6117 Sam Ash Custom!

Made in Brooklyn NY and built exclusively for local music store chain Sam Ash between 1964-1967, this fully hollow thinline is one of the more intriguing and mysterious Gretsch archtop electrics out there, with a feature set not found on any production models of this era.

Rocking its original Ebony finish, the double bound body with bound Cat's Eye f-holes add an extra touch of class and sophistication that marries a unique feature more commonly associated with the Synchromatic archtop models of the 1940s with the shape and electrified elements of a Double Anniversary. Twin Hilo'tron single coil pickups have a nice response that offers some chime and definition with a mellow output well suited for a fully hollow electric guitar.

The original Gretsch hardware and electronics are clean and fully functional. The guitar was refretted with period correct fretwire, and there is relatively minor playing wear throughout, especially considering the guitars age. The neck has a great profile that is uncharacteristically full for the era without being cumbersome, offering excellent playability.

A true vintage and rare standout, this 6117 Sam Ash Custom begs to be played.

Price includes original Gretsch hardshell case.
