Description

Some instruments let you know what they're about the second you lift them out of the case. They have a vibe, an inherent musicality, an energy (sound crazy? Chat with a builder, they'll tell you the same...the wood just "speaks"). You just know they're going to be incredible to sit down with...

This show-stopping Huber Redwood is one of those guitars. And to be clear, we're not simply focusing on looks, though it's hard to deny the beauty of the exceptional Burl Redwood top, no? It's the feel, the weight, the finish...everything about it feels alive. Oh, and the weight? An astounding 5lbs 12oz.

Huber's Redwood model is a very sophisticated take on the "Tele-Paul" design - the comfort of a Tele body shape and Fender 25 1/2" scale length coupled with a lot of "Gibson-isms", if you will - humbuckers, wraptail (Huber made/designed), MoP crown inlays, a "super hollow" mahogany body, mahogany neck, and twin Haussel humbuckers (splitable, btw).

While these elements are certainly present in the design, the Redwood is its own animal with a distinct personality. It's really, really fun to play, resonant, alive and agile feeling. Tonally? Incredible. It has a very loud, dry, midrange-centric tone acoustically and plugged in, that acoustic "air" remains while adding a fat, clear, balanced humbucker richness. Think Tele twang coupled with a vintage ES-335....a 335 with more top-end snap....it's awesome, and it had us passing the guitar around for about 30 mins through a clean, and cranked, Victoria Vicky Verb.

If you're looking for a new guitar that tips its hat to the classics while providing you with something new - and not just for the sake of being different. Different with the objective of providing you with an inspiring, new feel and tonal pallete...this is your guitar. Outstanding. Priced with hardshell case.
