Simply put, this is the most exciting Collings guitar to come along in quite some time, and its lightness of build and dry, airy tone must be experienced to be believed.
Why We Love This
OM1 JL Features
The OM1 JL incorporates an early script peghead logo that has not been seen on a new Collings instrument in decades and pays homage to Bill Collings' early roots as an aspiring guitar maker.
Modeled after Lage's 1939 Martin 000-18, the OM1 JL's neck features a 1 11/16" nut and 2 3/16" saddle spacing. For those accustomed to wider necks, the guitar is optionally available with a 13/4" nut and 2 5/16" saddle spacing in the standard Traditional profile.
Featuring a rich amber lacquer toner, custom wood purflings and a matching rosette, the OM1 JL has traditional appointments to match its vintage-inspired voicing.
Nickel Waverly tuners with oval buttons and an authentic relic patina provide precise and reliable tuning while contributing to the guitar's vintage charm and feel.
Developed with both tonal and aesthetic qualities in mind, the OM1 JL is finished with a custom satin nitrocellulose lacquer that offers true and uninhibited response with the softened sheen of a time-worn vintage instrument.
