Mark Campellone has been building some of the finest archtop guitars available for decades. As a Campellone dealer, we've long appreciated his dedication to the craft and have been fortunate to handle some special instruments.
This particular Special model just came in on consignment, and shares many of the great high quality features you'll find on Mark's guitars. Thanks to a beautifully carved spruce top and high-grade carved maple back and sides, this 17" cutaway archtop has a distinctively warm and responsive tone, with a sweetness in the high end that has come with almost a decade and a half of aging.
Plugged in, the custom handwound Kent Armstrong 12 pole piece mini humbucker provides an equally sweet voice, capturing the guitar's magnificent acoustical qualities and translating them with great detail. The undermounted volume and tone controls maintain a very sleek and understated aesthetic while allowing for great tonal control in a stage/studio environment. The slightly slimmer C carve neck combined with the 1 11/16" nut width offers silky smooth playability that's well suited for both rhythm and arpeggiated melodic styles alike.
Condition: Excellent. Minor play wear by way of very small marks in the finish (bass side below the F hole, rear back side), pick wear on the pickguard and just off of the pickguard edge on the top. Gold hardware is clean with minor patina/wear. Light fret wear in the first 4-5 frets.
If you're in the market for a top-of-the-line electric archtop with small shop attention to detail, it'd be hard to overlook this one. Skip the wait and jump right into this Campellone while it's still available!
Priced with hardshell case.
