This guitar was so incredible that it sold before we had time to get it listed! We've gone ahead and posted it for posterity and to simply showcase the beauty of yet another special Honeycaster made by Maine luthier extraordinaire Laurent Brondel.
If you've ever been a fan of that classic late 70s or 80s "hot rod" vibe in an old strat, look no further. Laurent put on his mad scientist hat and really went to work on this one. Featuring original vintage Gibson and Fender pickups that sound like they were made to be together from the start, this Honeycaster gives new meaning to the neo-vintage HSS configuration.
The maple cap neck is not only gorgeous but has the playability of a world-class instrument, something we've come to expect from Brondel. The combination of ultra-playability in the neck with a lightweight and resonant Alaskan Yellow Cedar body helps to support that Fender-meets-Gibson tonal alchemy.
We know looks aren't always the best way to shop for an instrument, but we'd be lying if we said it didn't inform some decision making. I mean, how can you look at this guitar and NOT get excited?! The lightly aged Olympic White finish sits perfectly against a beautiful Spitfire pickguard that presents a unique and captivating contrast while also highlighting a wonderfully figured maple neck. Eye-popping would be an understatement!
We can only hope to see another one of these down the road. Keep an eye out for what's sure to be another amazing Brondel!
