We'll admit it - there have been times when playing a Tele, Strat, or a Les Paul we've wished they either did a little more of something, or a little less of another thing. Not as thin sounding, not as fat, etc...you know the drill. Seems wrong to say about these classics, but it's true. 

Enter Bill Asher's T-Deluxe. It's like a Tele with a Les Paul Special's soul and attitude (and yes, tones at times) with a dash of Strat for good measure. Built around the classic Tele platform, this T-Deluxe utilizes a 1-piece African Mahogany body, 22 frets, a tone styler (chicken head knob), and a set of Bill's hand-wound T-Blade pickups. The neck carve feels a bit like an early 60s Strat, albeit ever so slightly more chunky. 

Want Tele twang and bite (with a sweeter top end)? Ignore the tone styler and play as you would on any Tele. Want to mix in some Gibson midrange and authority? Engage the 6 position tone styler - each successive click brings in more midrange and takes the treble down. By the 6th position, neck pickup engaged, you're darned close to a convincing, inspiring archtop-like tone. The neck pickup gets close to a Strat's hollow bell tone as well. 

Lightweight, extremely resonant, and just gorgeous visually, this guitar radiates quality. Given the pickups and wiring, you've got an almost limitless amount of tones at your disposal. This could be the best of all worlds guitar for the right player!
