We're happy to have this lovely sounding D-21 built by luthier Joe Konkoly in the shop! Many of us in the acoustic guitarosphere know Joe from his work in the repair department at Elderly Instruments; but his own handmade instruments, while very rare, deserve their own place in the spotlight. This is a finely built D-21 style guitar that exhibits very clean workmanship and excellent tone for its price point. It's got a very satisfying & boomy low end, with nice crackle across the midrange, making it a fantastic bluegrass workhorse. The top appears to be a very thin varnish or shellac finish, which surely accounts for the guitar's meaty response. Overall condition is excellent as well -- it's got a few minor scratches, but for a 28-year old guitar it presents very cleanly. Anyone in the market for powerhouse dreadnought should give this guitar strong consideration. And call us if you'd like an in-hand description. Priced with hard case.
