Collings 290 Walnut Aged w/Throbak '52/'54 P90s

"Every day we try to make a better guitar, every day. You're trying to reach for more, trying to do better, not trying to do the same. A lot of companies are trying to do the same, and that's okay - that's their deal. We're trying to stretch that. Our goal is a little more." - Bill Collings

Our latest aged lacquer 290 has an undeniable Bob Marley vibe to it which is A-Ok in our book! The aged walnut finish looks amazing in person - you'd be forgiven for thinking this is a vintage guitar when first picking it up.

So you say you don't like P90s, more of a humbucker player? This guitar will have you rethinking that stance. Chime, midrange snarl, gorgeous cleans or Marshall half-stack ready overdriven tones, these guitars cover a huge range of tones (did we mention these Throbak P90s sound incredible?). Even unplugged/sans amp this is an awesome sounding guitar. Snappy, resonant, beautiful midrange...

That old expression that "it's all in the hands"? This style of guitar shows you why that's true - they are tone machines, period. Everything you need, nothing you don't. No fancy tops, ornate bindings, etc...just tone and feel which leaves everything else up to you (i.e., your hands). Like all Collings, the build quality and setup are perfect.

Collings 290s come as close to capturinig the vibe of the vintage Les Paul Specials as we've seen - these are just awesome guitars in every regard! Give this 290 a try - you won't be disappointed. Priced with original hardshell case.
