Nugget F5 (1982)

TME is happy to host this 1982 Nugget F5 mandolin, which comes to us from its original owner who picked out the wood with Mr. Kemnitzer when it was built! Please have a look at our photos, as this instrument has been well played and sports the wear and patina you'd expect from 35 years of gigs. The instrument remains well set-up and in original condition -- an abbreviated pickguard has been added by Mr. Kemnitzer. Gorgeous figured Sugar Maple back & sides, and a tone-bar-braced Engelmann Spruce top.

This is a very loud, very powerful and very bluegrassy sounding Nugget mandolin. Not as lightly built and thinly topped as his more recent instruments, it screams with incredible volume, power and resonance (the treble strings are downright Loar-esque). Fabulous balance from string-to-string, with the clarity and punch any bluegrass mandolin player would search forever to acquire. Radiused fingerboard, 1 3/32" nut width. On consignment -- no trades, please.
