Martin D-45 Authentic 1942 (2011)

Pre-owned Martin D-45 Authentic "1942" model just into the shop! This particular iteration of the D-45 has some interesting features that separate it from D-45's made in the last few decades. Martin used a slightly thinner Adirondack spruce top (.105" versus .120") with rear-shifted scalloped x-bracing while also thinning the rosewood backs just a bit. That construction and the 100% hot hide glue construction give these guitars an enormous tonal strength while keeping the overall resonance light and airy. (The first thing you'll notice when picking this guitar up is just how light it is for a rosewood dreadnought.)

Other notable features are the ebony, non-adjustable truss rod, solid pearl inlays, and premium, old-growth Brazilian back and sides. And we've got to say--this is the nicest Brazilian we've seen on a modern-era Martin guitar. The beveled tortoise pickguard is applied under the thin nitrocellulose polished lacquer finish. Bridge pins, end pin, nut and saddle are all made from premium fossilized ivory.

This guitar is in near-mint condition. It's been played a few times, but presents as showroom-new. There's no online checkout option, so please contact us if you're interested in purchasing this absolutely wonderful sounding instrument.
