Gibson ES-300 (1951)

Beautiful 1951 Gibson ES-300 just in!

The ES-300 was Gibson's top of the line electric guitar when it debuted in 1940. It's a gorgeous, classy guitar in person as evidenced by flamed maple top, 3-ply body binding, and dual "dog ear" P90s. This may be one of the most comfortable Gibson necks we've come across - classic 50s Gibson heft but perfectly shaped shoulders. It's an incredibly comfortable neck that's perfect for lead or chord work.

As expected, it sounds fantastic plugged in. 50's era Gibson P90s never fail to deliver - gorgeous midrange, output, and warmth. It's "the" classic jazz tone from this era. One of the things we love most on the ES-300 is the lack of a pickup switch. You have a volume for each pickup and a master tone control which allows for an endless array of tones. It's intuitive to use and really makes a lot of sense (we'd love to see this setup on other guitars truth be told).

Condition: Excellent. Mild weather checking on the body along with some very minor impressions (to be expected for a guitar of this age). The neck is smooth and the frets show minor wear. The setup is perfect and all electronics work as they should.

Looking for an archtop you don't see everyday? This ES-300 won't disappoint - a killer guitar by any measure! Priced with hardshell case.
