“I love Juniors, Teles, some of the Supros and Hagstrums and definitely old Gretches! Those elements combined to create my overall inspiration. The main thing that I wanted to do was to figure out how to make an improved one from start to finish 100% by hand. I want to use my hands, eyes and ears to select and build every part of every instrument. That was the driving force in the idea behind doing this!” - Gabriel Currie
Quick, get thee to the nearest Marshall 50 watt head and 4x12 cab! Our very first Echopark Ghetto Bird has arrived and boy oh boy....awesome!
This Koa topped Ghetto Bird is Gabriel Currie's riff on the legendary Gibson Firebird and it just embodies the essence of rock n roll. Like all of Gabriel's guitars, there is just a vibe to this beauty that's hard to distill. Visually, there are some really cool touches: the stripe on the Brazilian fretboard, tortoise guard, amber tuning buttons, headstock shape, and again, the Koa top. We also love the feel of the satin finish.
Tonally? Incredible. Articulate, fat, biting when you want it to be. It's everything you want in a great Firebird. Warren Haynes fans to Oasis devotees will love this guitar. The set-up is spot on and the neck, while quite fat like a late 50s LP Junior, never gets in the way - it simply feels awesome to play.
This Ghetto Bird Custom Koa brings something new to legendary Firebird formula and is not to be missed - a killer guitar by any measure. Priced with hardshell case.
