Alembic Spectrum Baritone (1994)

No longer for sale

Few brands conjure up the late '60s San Francisco music scene like Alembic. Their association with acts like the Grateful Dead are the stuff of legend (as are their instruments). Case in point? This excellent condition '94 Spectrum Baritone!

One of the hallmarks of Alembic instruments is their use of gorgeous woods, interesting shapes, and onboard electronics. All three boxes definitely get checked on this Spectrum model. From Alembic's website:

"The Spectrum is the 'sister' guitar to the Europa bass. The body is contoured not only for its beauty, but also to offer a wonderfully natural fit to your own. You shouldn't merely wear a guitar, it should be an extension of yourself.

Clean, clear electronics allow your musical ideas to translate from thought into reality. Don't play a guitar with someone else's voice, rather, select the perfect guitar for expressing your own musical voice. With the Spectrum's low-pass filter, you can find warm, broad sounds right through to strong, bright sounds. A small turn of the tone knob has a wild effect. This is not the guitar you buy, turn the tone control full up and leave it there - you might as well not have any tone control at all, since you let someone else make all the sonic decisions. The flexibly inherent in the Alembic electronic design philosophy means that you are in control of, and responsible for your own tone."

Sonically adventurous players would be wise to check out this beautiful, unique Alembic Spectrum Baritone! Priced with hardshell case.
