Collings C100 Deluxe Rosewood

The new Collings C100 is a guitar that delivers tone per pound like few others. It's one of the most interesting designs to come along in quite some time (and to be fair -- Collings did produce the model in small quantities early in their history as a shop). The C100 is a small-bodied guitar that sounds anything but small. You can think of the body dimensions as a big C10, if you're familiar with the Collings lineup. Or if you've got experience holding a 12-fret 000, the body feels similar to those dimensions as well (except -- bonus -- now you've got those two extra frets back!). Straight bracing gives the C100 a powerful, direct sound, which makes it a great small-bodied strummer that won't break up or compress while still retaining the clarity and balance we love in our littler guitars. When you dig in on the low strings, get ready to grin: the low end on these things will rattle your ribs! Old-time rhythm players are in for a treat, as is anyone who's ever played a small-bodied guitar for comfort but been disappointed with their power in a jam setting. Long story short: every once in a while a new guitar comes along that makes you excited about playing all over again -- and the C100 is one of those guitars!
