Bagnasco & Casati D-18

TME is happy to have another guitar from Italian luthiers Bagnasco & Casati! This D-18 is true to Martin 1937 specs in all regards (except for its Italian Spruce top). Mahogany back & sides, Ebony bridge & fretboard, full hide glue construction, thin nitro finish and steel T-Bar neck reinforcement round out the specs; and inside it's scalloped and forward-shifted like a '37 would be. This is a very lightweight guitar, with a dry, woody sound -- impressive depth and responsiveness for a new guitar, with bluegrass-throttling volume and projection. The neck carve is period correct: full, but not obtrusively big. The treble strings have that great hollow, woody feeling and tone (just like a vintage guitar), and the mids are full and punchy.

This is a great flatpicking guitar that would make anyone looking for a bona fide pre-war replica smile with glee. But its lightness of build and respsiveness up the fretboard make it a great fingerpicker as well. Priced with hard case -- please feel free to call us for an in-hand description of this great guitar! And have a listen over at the video tab as one of the builders plays it himself.
