Kim Walker 000-42 Cocobolo / Adirondack (2001)

TME is proud to host this sensational 000-42 from Connecticut's Kim Walker. If you've read the folklore about Kim's guitars, we can assure you the hype is well-warranted: these are the most consistently amazing-sounding guitars out there, and for acoustic guitarists who demand the best in tone and responsiveness they truly rival the best 1930's Martins. This 12-fret 000-42 features beautifully figured Cocobolo back and sides and a tight-grained Red Spruce top from the Adirondacks. Unlike many Cocobolo guitars, this one does not feel heavy in the hand; but it does exhibit the very powerful low end typically associated with that tonewood. This is a gorgeous-sounding guitar, with a powerful (yet never strident) midrange and sparkling, fat trebles all the way up the neck. For a 12-fret 000, this is likely as full-sounding and rich a guitar as you'll ever encounter. Handsomely trimmed in abalone, with a Torch headstock inlay.

This guitar comes to us from Kim's shop, where he repaired a small crack in the original bridge and set it up for the original owner. Its playability simply couldn't be better, and it needs no work of any kind. Overall condition is near mint, and it's priced with a Calton Case.

*Please note: expedited shipping only via online checkout. Please email us for other shipping options.
