Martin D-28 (1957)

Description

Anyone looking for a player's grade vintage Martin D-28 should be glancing right over here. This road-worn 1957 model was acquired from the son of the original owner, who tells us his Dad gigged this guitar all around the country. To his/our knowledge, the only work that was performed on the guitar over the years was a bridge replacement/pickup installation by Jim Baggett of Mass Street Music. Otherwise it's original, with moderate playwear and a B-string crack (repaired). Matthew Arcara has just removed the pickup, made a new saddle, reglued the bridge and dressed the frets. The guitar sets up at 3/32" with medium gauge strings and plays wonderfully. Bluegrassers will love the dry, woody sound; and the midrange punch makes it a great single note flatpicker too. Priced with hard case (non original). A fine old D-28 for anyone who doesn't mind a few bumps and bruises.
