Always exciting to have a Suhr in the shop. We just took this one in trade and felt it was pretty Music Emporium worthy with its stunning Guatamalan rosewood top!
This 2017 Modern was a limited run and features a bound Guatamalan rosewood top on a 2-piece basswood body, 3a Roasted Birdseye maple neck with a 10"-14" compound radius Indian rosewood fretboard, 22 jumbo stainless frets, Gotoh 510 2-post bridge, and Suhr's own SSV & SSH Plus pickups w/a 5-way switch and a push-push tone control.
Whew. That's a hell of a guitar just from the specs...not too shabby looking either, no?
It's a very comfortable 7lbs 13oz and feels great and balances perfectly when in hand. Suhr guitars are legendary for their effortless playability and setup and this Modern is no different. Its very comfortable Modern Elliptical neck carve (.800-.850 & 1.650" nut) is finished in a killer satin finish and just defines luxury. It's about as deluxe of a playing experience as you can get and from the Suhr's we've played, that's totally the point.
Tonally this thing is a monster. Huge overdriven tones with all the power you could want, but with clarity and enough switching options to keep it interesting. There's tons of sustain and single note runs have a great snap to them.
Condition: Near mint.
In short, this is an impeccably made instrument that delivers a luxurious playing experience and awesome tones - a grown-up guitar for those of us that like to shred every now and then. Priced with original hardshell case, case candy, spec sheet, and wrenches.
