"Every day we try to make a better guitar, every day. You're trying to reach for more, trying to do better, not trying to do the same. A lot of companies are trying to do the same, and that's okay - that's their deal. We're trying to stretch that. Our goal is a little more." - Bill Collings
Here's an I-35LC Deluxe with a twist - Lollar Gold Foils - and one that would've been perfect in Chris Cornell's hands. Not sure what it is, but the Gold Foil pickups give this jet black I-35LC Deluxe a Soundgarden approved vibe!
This guitar is super resonant, lively, and responsive. The neck feels incredible - slightly chunky, but appropriate for this style of guitar. The setup is excellent and the guitar plays great.
So...these gold foils, what's the story? In a semi-hollow guitar, they bring an almost Tele-like twang and top-end response. The neck pickup sounds like the perfect PAF-style humbucker. Articulate, round, almost Strat-like...it's a really appealing tone and can cop most any great neck PAF tone. The bridge position is bright and assertive with great chime and twang. This guitar can cover quite a bit of ground stylistically - something we weren't expecting if we're 100% honest!
Condtion: Near mint. Light pick swirls on the guard and one or two very light swirls by the neck volume knob. No fret wear or dings. The black knobs aren't original to the guitar and one pickguard screw hasn't been drilled into the guitar (see pics). The owner wanted the guard, but didn't want to put a hole in the guitar in case the guard was removed - win/win!
This is a fantastic, very beautiful looking I-35LC Deluxe that would make players unafraid of bucking tradition very happy! Priced with hardshell case.
