"Every day we try to make a better guitar, every day. You're trying to reach for more, trying to do better, not trying to do the same. A lot of companies are trying to do the same, and that's okay - that's their deal. We're trying to stretch that. Our goal is a little more." - Bill Collings
As most fans of Gibson guitars know, to find "the" one, you're going to have to play a bunch of them whether vintage or new. Great examples exist to be sure, but you could save yourself quite a bit of time and trouble and check out this killer aged blonde I-35LC. Icing on the cake? It's equipped with Throbak SLE101+ pickups - arguable some of the best PAF style pickups you can get.
This guitar is super resonant, lively, and responsive. The neck feels incredible - slightly chunky, but appropriate for this style of guitar (The perfect early 60s style carve? Perhaps). The setup is simply flawless. The Throbak SLE101+ MXV pickups sound phenomenal and have "the" sound - gorgeous midrange punch, glassy top end sparkle, and are medium output on the bridge pickup, low output on the neck pickup (i.e., no muddy neck pickup tones to be had here).
Looking for the best 335 style guitar without going vintage? This is your guitar. Priced with hardshell case.
Interested? We may have another on the way.
