BJFE Baby Pink Booster (Used)

Sold

Bjorn Juhl is the mastermind behind Swedish-based BJFE pedals and we're really excited to have just taken in a batch of his highly lauded, hand-wired pedals. Most will recognize the Mad Professor brand....Bjorn designed these products but didn't make them himself.

Been looking for that "magic" pedal that'll enhance your tone but not color it in a heavy handed way? Perhaps you've tried a compressor. Maybe a low-gain overdrive. Maybe a "clean boost". We've been there searching for the same thing. Compressors are definitely cool and useful, but sometimes they squash a little to heavily. Love gain drives are cool but they sometimes color your tone too heavily.

Enter the fantastic BJFE Baby Pink Booster. This pedal is Bjorn Juhl's beloved buffer and boost circuit in one box - the same one used in the legendary BJFE Honey Bee, minus the drive circuit. We tested the BPB with a Koll Troubadour into a Victoria Vicky Verb. First reaction? Hmmm. This is pretty subtle. Not sure what the fuss is all about (every tried an original Klon? Same thing. $2K for this? Really?).

Fast-forward about 15 mins. Minds blown. This is the pedal we've been searching for all these years! Turning it off after a few minutes reveals how great this pedal makes your tone sound, without altering it radically. Subtle EQ things are happening - a touch more sparkle, girth, warmth...and of course volume (it offers 15db of boost, btw). It does what we always wanted a Klon to do, just without the midrange boost and change in gain structure. It's a lot like an 1176 compressor, just without the squish.

It's subtle for sure, but it simply made playing more enjoyable - like we removed the blanket from in from of our amp. Put this last in line on your board, and your other pedals, drives especially, also benefit from the subtle but powerful EQ enhancements. We don't know how Bjorn does it, but we're sold - this pedal is remarkable!
