Heiden F-5 Mandolin (2005)

This beautiful black-top F5 from Canada's Michael Heiden is a joy to have in the shop. It's an incredibly well-made instrument, exhibiting a level of craftsmanship that'd easily place it in the top tier of mandolins currently in existence. It's been played, and features a varnish finish, so expect to see a couple extremely minor signs of playwear ~ nothing drastic, and it presents perfectly. The tone is absolutely sumptuous ~ warm, rich and dark, with a great woody "pop" to the note. It's extremely open-sounding and responds excellently whether played delicately or aggressively. It's currently setup on the low side, and may have even more to give to a bluegrass player who'd like the action a little higher. Click over to the video tab to hear mandolinist David Benedict take it for a spin with one of his own compositions! With Superior hard case. On consignment -- no trades, please.
