Ellis F5 Reserve Tortoise w/ Collings Vintage-Style Case

Sold. Please inquire for next available!

Tom Ellis and his team have done it again! This magnificent F5 Reserve is made from Ellis's private-stock quilted maple -- wood that not only makes a jaw-droppingly beautiful mandolin, but one with a warmer, quicker response as well. Even for an instrument that's only been tuned up to pitch for a few weeks, this F5 speaks confidently, with the fat treble notes and perfect string to string balance of a well-broken in festival war horse. We spec'd this mandolin with tortoise binding, which blends seamlessly into the lustrous tobacco sunburst finish and lets the beautiful materials speak for themselves. Priced with a Collings-made vintage-style hard case manufactured specifically for Ellis. A knockout in every way.
