If you've been following James Tyler Guitars you've likely heard about the Japanese made Tyler guitars and may be wondering, "What's the deal? Any good?"
We can say, without hesitation, absolutely. These are phenomenal guitars that are scary close to the Tyler guitars made in L.A.!
If you've never played a Tyler you're in for a treat. Tylers are known for their ultra comfortable necks and this transparent blue Studio Elite is no exception. The neck's silky satin finish and "Standard 59" / chunky carve feel great in-hand, but never overly fat - this is certainly no late 50s Gibson style chunky. This carve is rounder and a bit narrower. As mentioned, it's a highlight on Tyler guitars and no doubt a reason for their popularity.
This Tyler is really resonant, lively, and highly playable - a Tyler trademark. It sounds huge into an amp and the midrange circuit is a cool addition. If you're in the market for a super-Strat, we have a hard time thinking you'd do much better. There's something really musical and inspiring about a Tyler that takes it beyond simply being a "master built" guitar. These guitars have vibe, soul, and heart - and - are impeccably made. Don't miss this one! Priced with original hardshell call (*the tremolo bar was not included).
