Martin 000-18 (1934)

$15,000.00

Very fine sounding transitional long-scale Martin 000-18. The 000-18 was reintroduced in early 1934 as a long scale model (25.4") and then soon after switched to 24.9". This example, being a long scale, has a very strong, forward voice with power and presence in spades. The condition is well-worn but mostly all original. There was some repair work done to correct a headstock crack or break. Looks to be two dowels inserted for strength and some finish work over the affected area. Very clean work and quite stable. The Adirondack top has a great pumpkin-orange patina with loads of character. Who ever owned it prior, played it hard but with respect. The action is great, with plenty of saddle height remaining if one requires lower action. Original bar frets have a healthy amount of height still showing and fell great. This guitar is testament to why 000's from this period are so coveted. A few strums and you'd be hard-pressed to not fall in love! On Consignment with non original hard shell case.
